A short update

Tue Oct 13, 2009, 9:56 PM
Ooops, I havent update for a long time again. In fact, I havent been touching drawing and craft for quite some time =_____=, though I always say I want to work harder... hah..

Been busy with work and Japanese class. Yes I took up Japanese again, though having completed like till advanced level quite many years back, I've long forgotten about how to use the grammar and vocabs. It's quite tiring as the classes takes place after work at nite and I have to wake up very early for work.

Anyway, have just started working on the doujin stuff for Comics Fiesta 09. This year will be heading down to the event again with the group of Singapore artists (with new people joining us!). And will be changing my booth/group name to the group name used for our Mabi and FFVII doujin -- Asgard Aliens. And this time round we will be working on a crossover doujin...

It's getting hard to think of series and themes to draw as I'm always behind time with the games compared to the rest in the group XD...

I'll be working on a vocaloid x fairytale doujin too. ... and making attempts into the Touhou fandom... Hope things work out fine!!

Oooh where do you go for japanese classes? I've been trying to find them!! Alot of them are really expensive though.. unless you go to the expensive ones =P

Myuuu~ "new people joining us" heeheehee
:iconsakachan:
I am now attending classes at Ikoma (it's at orchard Shaws tower)... so far I think it is good, a lot of interaction with the teacher, and you get to speak a lot. It's about $350 per semester... depending on the level you are taking it's 10 to 15 class per sems I think...

I used to study at JCS, it's cheaper... like 400 plus a year, but it's very singapore classroom style... gets very dry at the advance level (which I totally cant catch what they are teaching and promptly forgotten everything after I left)...

Extra learning are always a bit more ex ^^U

Ohhh that one!! :giggle: haha.. I wanted to go look for it but never had the time! How long is one sem? And and, how big is the class size in Ikoma?

yea I heard of JCS too, my friends all learn there lol. Ahh I really prefer interaction with the teacher if I wanna learn and remember! That's why I fail everything in school (singapore style class) haha!
:iconsakachan:
Depending on you are taking 1 class per week or 2 class per week... one sem can be 3 months or around 1 and half month. Class size.. depending on the level? it is generally no bigger than 18 if i'm not wrong.

Most people went to JCS bah, cos it's cheap and it's like the "offical" place to learn Japanese from.

haha so Ikoma is not official? :giggle: Ahh usagi was looking at their website and said it was very confusing. We can't just sign up anytime right? Must see their schedule etc.. Do you know when are their semester timetables released?

And also do you pay in full before semester start? :D Is there a fixed number of semesters too.. Like we must attend at least 2 sems...? haha
:iconsakachan:
hmm.. well.. they use different teaching materials but they all will cover the neccessary syllabus needed for the proficiency exams. Hmm the timetable is released like every 4 months. I think you can head down to check in november for the new schedule. You can join in the mid of a sems, but they will need to put you thru a placement test to see if you have enough prior knowledge to just join the class.

Yah you need to pay in full at every start of the sems. Don't think there's a fix number of sems, you want to stop and start as and when you are convenient but each level is 4 sems at least.

hahah prior-knowledge fail xD
Ah thanks so much for letting me know!! Oops I think you missed out that last paragraph.. I asked if we've to pay in full before the semester starts, and is there a fixed number of semesters we must attend? =P
:iconsakachan:
Eh I did reply that. You have to pay in full at the start of each sems (pay for the sems). There's no fixed number of sems you need to attend, but do note that each level is 4 sems to complete.

Ahh ok. How long is one semester again ah? sorry forgot. If need 4 sems then I need to count the amount of time needed to commit.. =P

Btw Evon-chan, we might pay you the booth fee back at AFA. Still no news of booths but some people are still...holding on? LOL! esp cos last year's booth released was 1st week of nov. so late~
